Donna_Goione-Merchant

Donna Goione-Merchant, Au.D.

Donna Goione-Merchant received her Doctor of Audiology Degree from the University of Florida. She received her Masters Degree in Audiology and her undergraduate Bachelor of Science Degree as a Teacher of the Hearing Impaired/Deaf from Trenton State College (now The College of New Jersey). Dr. Merchant is the owner of Educational Audiology Resources and New Jersey Hearing Health Center in Brick, NJ. She has been a practicing audiologist for over 25 years and works with both adult and pediatric populations. She specializes in pediatric auditory disorders and has extensive diagnostic experience in the areas of childhood hearing loss and central auditory processing disorders. Dr. Merchant consults to multiple school districts providing evaluations, consultative services on IEP teams for appropriate interventions, placements and accommodations for auditory disorders in the schools and on-site educational audiologic services. She lectures and provides workshops on topics relating to Hearing Loss, Educational Audiology, Auditory Disorders, and Aural Rehabilitation. Dr. Merchant also works as an Assistant Professor of Audiology in the Montclair State University Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders Doctoral Audiology and Graduate Speech Pathology programs.

Janet_Koehnke

Janet Koehnke

Janet Koehnke is Professor of Audiology and Chair of the Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders at Montclair State University and was recently named a fellow of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut in 1983 and was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Sensory Communication Group at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She is the immediate past president of NJAA. From 2008 to 2012 she was the VP for Continuing Education of the New Jersey Academy of Audiology and has served on the Audiology Advisory Council of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association since 2009. She was on the editorial board of Ear & Hearing from 1992 until 2011. Dr. Koehnke has been teaching and conducting applied auditory research for almost 30 years. She has authored more than 30 refereed publications and given more than 125 presentations/posters at national and international meetings. Her research, which has been funded by the National Institutes of Health and the Deafness Research Foundation, currently focuses on the effects of aging and hearing loss on behavioral and electrophysiologic measures of binaural and spatial hearing.

Michelle Neidleman received her doctorate of audiology from Montclair State University and her bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Connecticut. She currently works at New York University Langone Medical Center providing audiological and vestibular services to pediatric and adult patients.

Caitlin Faccone received her Doctorate of Audiology and Bachelor of Science in Biology from Montclair State University. She currently works at Saint Peterís University Hospital in New Brunswick providing audiological and hearing aid services to pediatric and adult populations. Previously, she worked for ENT and Allergy Associates in their Bridgewater and Woodbridge offices.

Vice President for Professional Issues

Robert_Woods

Robert Woods, Ph.D.

Dr. Woods received his Masters and Ph.D. degrees from Purdue University. He was Professor of Audiology for nine years and Adjunct Professor for seven years in the Graduate School at Columbia University. He was Adjunct Clinical Professor of Audiology at The College of New Jersey and is currently Adjunct Professor in the Doctoral Program in Audiology at Montclair State University. Licensed both as an Audiologist and as a Hearing Aid Dispenser, Dr. Woods has been founding director of Speech & Hearing Associates since 1969. He has lectured extensively in the United States and as invited lecturer in Great Britain, Germany and the former Yugoslavia on topics ranging from Diagnostic Audiology to Hearing Aid Fitting and Dispensing.

Dr. Woods has been awarded "Honors of the Association" from the New Jersey Speech Language and Hearing Association. He was also recognized by the New Jersey Speech and Hearing Association for demonstrating "the highest professional standards of integrity and ethical principles in the execution of clinical services." He has been elected to serve several terms on the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Speech Language and Hearing Association and has served as Chair of the Audiology Committee and Chair of the Ethics Committee. He currently serves on the Executive Council of the New Jersey Academy of Audiology. He has been elected from New Jersey to serve as Legislative Counselor to the American Speech and Hearing Association and has served on their Health Care Economics Committee. Dr. Woods has served as advisor to industry, insurance companies, school districts as well as health and governmental agencies.

Alex Malyarovich, ScD

Alex Malyarovich received his doctorate of audiology from Montclair State University and his bachelor's degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences from the City University of New York, Brooklyn College. He currently works at Speech and Hearing Associates, providing audiological and hearing aid services. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology. He enjoys spending his free time with his wife and newborn baby boy.

Ann_Marie_Olson

Ann Marie Olson, Sc.D.

Ann Marie Olson received her Doctor of Science Degree in Audiology and her Bachelorís Degree in Business Management from Montclair State University. During her graduate studies she held externships at various hospitals in the NY and NJ area, as well as presented research findings at international conferences on auditory processing in young, middle-aged and older adults. Dr. Olson has been helping individuals with hearing loss since 2001. She opened a private practice in Bergen County in 2005. She is currently Vice President of the NJ State Chapter of The Hearing Loss Association of America. Dr. Olson is also an Adjunct Professor at Montclair State University where she teaches graduate Audiology and Speech Language Pathology students.
